Too much Dinner

So Brian made a really good dinner and I ate too much, but I still did ok today.

Breakfast
Raisin bran
banana
Coffee w/2% milk 4 oz 3 creamers

Lunch
Rice 1 1/4 c
Curry squash and zuccinni 1c
Beans 1c
2 mandarin Oranges

Snack
Coffee 4 oz 2% milk and 3 creamers
2 mandarin Oranges
1 c Yogurt w/ 1tblsp honey

Dinner
2 c pasta noodles (Chicken pasta roni)
Chicken thigh 6 oz
Brocolli 3 oz

Dessert 3 prunes

Exercise
45 min bike to work
20 min upper body weights
55 min bike home

The Consumer Dilemma

So I was reading a post on Mothering.com. A mother was having difficulty with figuring out how to deal with one child taking another's Barbies. 1st a note: I have no issue with this mother, her parenting or choices but it certainly got me thinking about STUFF. So one daughter has new Barbies and the other has plenty of Barbies but they are old. One solution is to buy the girl with the old Barbies new ones. In an effort to be fair to our children we end up buying them more STUFF and are further sucked into the consumer ideaology and cycle of waste. I really haven't figured out a good way to combat this cycle but except I know I will be educating and educating my children as to why they can not have a certain things and they may be very resentful. Hopefully, I can show them that we can't have fun vacations and really enjoy time together more if we have less STUFF.

Weigh In Day

So Realized that I didn't post my starting Weight or weight loss goals.
I started losing weight 8/18/07 and weighed 187 lb.
My goal may be a little unrealistic but I'm going to give it my best.
Goal is about 140 lbs.
Today I weigh 166 lbs, which is 1 lb down from last week. I will do my best to get up early this week and go running on my Weekend.

Yesterday I ate

Breakfast
Banana
Raisin bran with 2% milk 4 oz

Lunch
Brown rice 1 1/4c
Zuccini and yellow squash curry 1 1/4c
M&M's 2 oz
Nuts less than 1/4c

Snack
Orange
Yogurt 1c with 1 tblsp honey

Dinner
Large salad with 3 tblsp dressing
Shredded carrots and beets
1/2c bean (pinto and black)

Dessert
3 pc toast with butter
2 with peanut butter 4 tblsp total and jelly 2 tblsp total

I wouldn't have had that 3rd piece of toast but Macey was not going to sleep so I got up with her and was super hungry. Man I could have been sleeping through that hunger.

Oh yeah, Exercise!
Run 20 min 2 mi
Bike to work 45 min
Bike home 50 min
